In loving Memory

Helen Smatak

Our association is honored to recognize the life and extraordinary generosity of Helen Smatak, whose legacy will continue to impact the lives of our student athletes for years to come.

Born on December 31, 1956, Helen spent her early years in Australia before making California her home. A proud "Cali Girl," she served over 40 years in the U.S Air Force Reserve and Department of Defense, retiring as a Master Sergeant.

Helen retied in Sun City Lincoln Hills, where she embraced community and friendship. Helen was known for her adventurous spirit, resilience, and courage through three battles with cancer. Her final words reflected her outlook on life: " keep smiling, keep loving one another, and live life."

Helen passed away on August 26, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of service and kindness. Through her estate, she supported organizations that strengthen their communities, and we are deeply grateful to be among them.

Her gift is a lasting investment on the future of our young rodeo athletes, helping to create opportunities that will support and inspire the next generation.
